Dr. Abbadessa is an experienced, board certified Proctologist and surgeon. As the founder of Colon Rectal Health Center, he meets the needs of patients in addressing diseases of the colon and rectum. These diseases and problems include: Colon and rectal cancer prevention (conducting colonoscopies and other screenings for cancer), rectal and colon surgery for removal of polyps, treating colon cancer, anal cancer, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, and irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Abbadessa is also an expert in the treatment of hemorrhoids, and HPV related conditions including genital warts and anal warts. He has treated thousands of patients through his twenty-plus years in practice.”Over the years I have adjusted my practice to meet the needs of my patients. People can’t afford to take time from work and that is why the majority of procedures are done in the office. Also, with escalating health care costs and high deductibles, we are able to give patients the highest quality and the safest care possible without the high fees associated with a hospital setting.”After receiving his doctorate from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine Dr. Abbadessa spent 5 years in the military in primary care and the HIV Unit. He has done extensive work in the area of HIV and produced nearly a dozen papers in this field. After being discharged from the Air Force, Dr. Abbadessa became certified in Proctology and now has over 25 years as a physician and over 20 in his specialty.Dr. Abbadessa believes in an informed and intelligent combination of traditional and alternative treatments. His office offers a carefully selected line of fiber supplements that support colon health. Dr. Abbadessa is married with three human children and two furry children, both Labrador retrievers.
